Mr. Sheppe’s practice focuses on business litigation and counseling small and mid-sized corporate clients as well as to their owners, officers and directors. Mr. Sheppe’s litigation practice targets contractual disputes, including related claims for fraud or misrepresentation and other torts, real estate investments, breaches of non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, business ownership disputes as well as trademark and copyright infringement. Mr. Sheppe practices regularly in Federal Court and State Court and before alternative dispute resolution tribunals. On the counseling side, Mr. Sheppe provides strategic advice to clients on corporate formation, corporate transactions and corporate governance issues. Mr. Sheppe’s typical client base includes private equity firms and their executives, commercial real estate lenders and developers, angel investors, investment banks, financial services firms, retail electronics firms and corporations with revenues between $5 million and $100 million.

In addition to his legal experience, Mr. Sheppe spent three years as an investment banker at a prominent Wall Street investment bank, where he participated in all aspects of corporate finance activities including public offerings, private equity and debt offerings, mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, and valuations in a wide range of industries, including Healthcare, Technology, Telecommunications, Real Estate, Construction and Food Processing.

  • Represented group of angel investors in $7 million litigation in both Federal and State Courts concerning allegations of mismanagement against company’s owner;
  • Represent one of the largest privately owned real estate companies in the United States in multi-million dollar dispute in State Court concerning failed investments and related fraudulent conduct;
  • Represented company in credit card processing industry in multi-million dollar business dispute concerning failed merger agreement and breach of restrictive covenants;
  • Represented angel investor in failed investment and obtained a judgment after trial in excess of $1 million;
  • Represented major retailer in trademark infringement dispute;
  • Represented former employees being sued for breach of their non-compete and non-solicitation agreements by former employer
